"CHERISH IS THE WORD"
In loving memory of our WCHS Spartan Alumni
Reunion Blessing
Dear Classmates,
We graciously thank you for the gift of community, as those of us present from the
class of 1970, have been blessed to gather for our 50/51st reunion.
We are reminded that others from our class have not been able to join us for numerous
reasons, but we so appreciate our good memories from the past and the many WCHS
friendships that we have known over the years. It is a gift for us tonight, to be able to be
with so many who were born at the same time, and to appreciate and discuss the many
rapid social changes we have seen since our days during high school, both good and bad.
It is with gratitude that we celebrate our lives and accomplishments and we pray for the gift of relationships, because without relationships our blessings would be meaningless.
May our evening be about friendships, old and new, fun fellowship, and a reminder how each of us need one another in ways that surprise.
Amen

THE EMPTY CHAIR
We gather here, a class once more to
reminisce,like years before
Upon the days and joys we knew
Before our school-age time was through
Yet, as we meet, with memories near
We think of those, always held dear-
Our friends and classmates, passed away
To be with God, and enjoy their day.
They sit at desks, resting on clouds
Surrounded by angelic crowds
Where they shall be forevermore
The friends and schoolmates we adore
They'll be with us in every prayer
Until the day, we join them there
Within the walls of heaven's class
Where friendships formed shall always last.
Until the hour, when we join again
An empty chair, we will maintain
In honor of the life-long bond
We forged with those, now passed beyond
The friends with whom we learned life's truth
Whose bonds lasted far from our youth
And shall remain forever near
When we gather, from year to year.
